mailer-daemon

Who or what is mailer-daemon, apart from being a confounded nuisance? I am receiving emails from mailer-daemon ... (at) ... cyno.ch and various other source addresses nearly every day. Usually they are telling me that an email could not be delivered, which is non-existent as far as I am concerned. Are others having this experience and how are you dealing with it please?

It's spam. Don't open them. And run a virus check.
Or you have been hacked and emails are being sent from your account, change your email passwords and run your virus checking software
mailer-daemon is what returns emails. .ch is a Swiss ending to an email address - it sounds like someone/something is spamming your emails to other people. Get a good spam filter and make sure that your internet security is up to date and working.

Thank you all for your concern and comments. I've tried setting a filter to delete spam emails and hope I've got it right. I shall know in the morning and will do a full system scan with Norton Internet Security. Time now for a bit of shut-eye. All for the moment and thanks again.

I'm relieved to say that a full security scan has not shown any problems and so far today no further spams. I had not realised the extent of Mailwasher's filtering ability.
mailer daemon is advising you that the e/mail you are sending to is not recognised liz
Try running the following tool, which shows "almost" exactly where in the world a domain is based http://www.yougetsign...tools/visual-tracert/

This shows that your failed "mails" are a scam, also definately check as I believe your account has been hacked,
Coldicote I occasionally get a mailer daemon notification and have always found that it's because my email can't be delivered. Am I correct in assuming that should I suddenly receive a huge increase in them, my computer has been hacked?
