can I use my kindle from my pc dongle?

Hi I do not have a landline phone, only a "3" pc dongle I got a Kindle for xmas and after registering with Amazon on my pc I do not get my wifi signal to use it, I get 4 or 5 local wifi`s to use and they are my neighbours. Do I have to use a landline connection wifi or Mc Donalds etc. to download books

Have you got the 3G version or just wi-fi?

I Understand that 3G would allow you, via a mobile phone like signal, to get books without wi-fi
You could use the adapter on the power cable to plug the kindle into your PC/laptop. Then download via the dongle and transfer from PC onto the kindle.
