Little red x in a box

What is the little red x in a box that appears on some links. I click on it but nothing seems to happen.

It normally means that there is a picture attached and that, for whatever reason, the machine isn't able to display it. Try right-clicking, sometimes that gives you the option to display picture. It doesn't always work, though.

It probably is signifying that it can not get or use the picture data it needs to display a picture. You should be able to right click on the X for options.
