Gmail put this on a couple of weeks ago, and I find it useless and annoying.

Nearly every message I get is flagged "important" and I can't get rid of it.

Help or sympathy, anyone?

Thanks, Plautus, I do that, but I really want to get rid of the whole feature.
Not sure why it's such an issue... on my gmail all I get is a little yellow flag next to the mail to tell me it's been sent as important...

But if you want to hide it click the cog in the top right corner, then click on the labels heading and select hide next to the important option.

Hi Chuck - it's unnecessary and irritating, that's all.
I don't like being what's important, especially when it ain't!

I've hidden the label, thanks!
