Im trying to log in to www.eportfolio.com but it keeps changing the address before it logs on to that address, This is a department of education website, is the problem at my end or theirs, we have the same problem on both PC's in the house.

You're using the wrong address... its

http://www.eportfolio.org
same here, looks as if the site doesn't exist. Are you sure it's correct?
Ratter, I had a problem with IE9, I couldn't get at my NHS email account, it kept not accepting my (perfectly good) passwords. Our IT gurus at work told me it's a compatability problem, I had to click the "broken page" icon on my screen and then log it again - since then it's been OK. Not sure if this is the same problem as you're experiencing?

Thanks chuck, Ive complained about this company already, you would think they would get something right!! Grrrr
the .com is registered to NAMESDIRECT which redirects to http://www.firas.com/ (I assume the .com is probably for sale and is just being held hoping somebody will want to buy it)

The .org is registered to Connecticut Distance Learning Consortium, which I assume is who you want to deal with.
Nothing to do with the company, it's a totally different domain!

I could register theanswerbank.com and it would be nothing to do with this site.
I think that Chuck is only half right.

Wrong URL?
Yes, I agree that's probably the cause.

But the site that Chuck has linked to is US (Connecticut) based. I reckon that you're actually seeking this one:
http://www.eportfolios.ac.uk/
Fair point, Chris :)

It could also be

eportfolio.me.uk
eportfolio.co.uk
eportfolio.org.uk
eportfolio.eu
eportfolio.com
eportfolio.net
eportfolio.org
eportfolio.info
eportfolio.biz
eportfolio.be
eportfolio.es
eportfolio.in
eportfolio.tv

They are all perfectly valid domains and just because the first part is the same doesn't mean they are anything to do with each other :)
True, Chuck, but I'd be prepared to bet that my link is the only one with a reference to the (former) DFES on it (which would seem to link with the reference to "a department of education website" in the question)
I was more making a point to ratter that just because the first part is the same it doesn't mean they are connected if the last part (the TLD) is different...

Incidentally, if you have a spare $185000 (+$25000 a year) you can register your own TLD now as pretty much anything you want ..... how do you fancy your very own .buenchico website :)
Thank you for reminding me to buy my lottery ticket tomorrow, Chuck ;-)

Well I cant seem to log into any of them!

This site is for an elearnig site to do my Diploma in Health and Social Care through a Plymouth based company..

they have given me a username and password but nothing seems to work Grrrrr
you're learning fast, Ratter
Try this one (although this is totally different!)

http://e-portfolio.plymouth.ac.uk/
Although you said "Plymouth based company" the link I just posted is for Plymouth university, not a company.
