TV DIGITAL RECORDERS

We already have a DVD recorder but would like to purchase a TV digital recorder for the times when you are on holiday and can tape things for a few weeks. Anyone any suggestions which are the best as I don't know much about them at all. Thanks.

I don't think too many people on here would have enough experience of all the various models to be able to make that sort of judgement. A trip to your local media outlet shop may be best course of action.

Have you got Sky TV, Sky+ enables recording of future programmes via its EPG facility ....

No we haven't got sky we are with ntl (virgin)

Without wishing to advertise, last year I purchased a Bush BTU250DTR (under £100 at ARGOS). It gives a minimum of 120 hrs recording and I have found it excellent.

Best things around at the moment are Humax.
They are fully updateable, have regular over-air updates, and there is a forum for help.

if your dvd recorder has a hard drive, why not use that? just connect a cheap freeview or our cable box to its AV input and leave it set on the right channel. tell the recorder to record from AV input. I still use a VHS recorfder in this way and get 8 hours recording on it.
