dvd problem (root)

Im trying to play a DVD with 2 episodes on it, on the menu i have pressed play all but when it comes to the end of episode 1 the word "ROOT" appears and i cannot get it to play episode 2. Ive even tried starting it from episode 2 from the main menu but still no success. There is nothing the matter with the disk as i have tried it in my daughters DVD player and it works fine. Any suggestions?

Is it a commercially made dvd or a copy?

Hi its a commercially made dvd not a copy. It plays episode one totally fine but when it comes to playing episode two it wont play it but it plays fine on my daughters player

Well, I think you've answered your own question - the problem is with your DVD player. (It's not a dual layer DVD, by any chance?)

Ooh not too sure what a dual layer is but ive taken the dvd player back to the store n they have exchanged it for me as they too didnt know what was the matter. Thanks anyway for your replies :~)
