DVD Recorder date error

I have both a video recorder and a DVD recorder and yesterday I was out and left the video recorder on timer. Later I returned home and the recording had not been made.Thinking I had made an error I checked the video and the timing data I had inserted was there and correct.Later in the evening I recorded a programme manually with the DVD recorder.

Today I checked the DVD recorder and the date given on the disc was 2 days slow,it showed date as 1st September.Thinking about the video recorder I entered set up and found that it too was 2 days slow.

Both devices are setup to check date/time automatically.
So how come both devices can be 2 days slow if as I believe they are updated via a signal down the aerial.

Puzzling !!!
