???Freeview airiel???

My daughter has previously been able to connect her TV and Freeview box via an external (main) airiel, but has now changed base (forces) and is in temporary accommodation that has no facility to connect to an external airiel.

Is it possible to use an indoor airiel to be able to get freeview. As yet she has only been able to access the four main channels with her current airiel. If a new digital airiel is required, how much would it cost ?.

couple of hundred quid. Would need cable replacing with digital spec cable too.

I take it that it isn't possible to access freeview with an indoor ariel
-- answer removed --
actually, it is. My sister runs hers off a portable aerial.
But it depends how strong the signal is. It's relatively cheap to give it a try first.
It really depends on the strength of the signal at her new location but you could try an amplified internal aerial. Argos sell a few amplified models.

Thanks, I am monitoring your replies and will let you know. I understand she will be at tesc this weekend.
Go on the internet and find out if the post code has full Freeveiew coverage. if not, only some signals will be received.
unless reception is really good, it is unlikely to operate on an indoor aerial - but give it a try.

Singal amps will do nothing for a very weak or missing Freeview signal.

Yes we did that. The postcode said it was a good area, but the airiel bought from Argos (19 reduced from about 20ish) fails to give freeview.
