I have a little digital phonebook - a tiny thing -
keyboard - you enter name and phone book and email if you want -but it is precious to me as it holds many numbers. it is also sorta battery powered and when I took the battery out I never saw such a funny looking battery

like a small round "old" shilling - or like a flattened locket - where on earth could I get a battery for that - failing that I may have to get a new one as in new phone book but then I have the task of typing all the names in again.

Just a place to look for for the new battery. Thanks

Any hardware or electrical store should stock them. Batteries come in all shapes and sizes.

thanks for that jackdaw - there is an electrical shop round the corner from me - will go there this morning. mind you it is a funny looking battery
Probably like a watch battery but larger. Take it with you when you go.
out of curiosity what is the name and model number of the phonebook device
Batteries like that are very common. Used in many devices, including watches, cameras, calculators, computers, and cardreaders. Lidl sell them in assorted packs, but you'll see a number inscribed on one side.

You can type the number into Google, or post on here to find a supplier.

Well got the batteries and replaced them and just as I thought all the phone numbers are gone.

I am not a mobile person however started to put some numbers but it is an old phone and takes ages to insert one number.

Am thinking of buying a new one but know the same thing will happen again - however did get about 5-6 years out of this. Do you think I should get another one or is there a similar gadget out there. Thanks

by the way it is called an electronic organiser. The one I have is Sharp.
jennyjoan; The battery will have number stamped on it which will identify it.
You'll easily find a replacement - don't panic!
Hi jj. have a look at this link & see if you can recognise your model, then google sharp electronic organiser model ******* & see if you can obtain a model help booklet which may help to get your missing numbers back.

Oldred - thanks so much - you have saved me some trouble- whilst your manual was a different sharp number - I googled the correct number was El6910 - followed some instructions and I am back to a usable gadget.

I will just take my time in inserting some numbers back again - of course I have lost some but they will come back again.

Thanks so much !!!!

whiskeyron just seen your post - because I have meddled and meddled without looking at a manual which I didn't have I have inadvertently deleted the numbers but at least it is working - hurray. thanks all
jj. One tries you know, in fact I am often accused of being very trying.
If it's so much trouble entering the numbers in the organisers why not write them in a book instead? Failing that. create a folder in your "Documents" folder on your PC to hold the numbers.
Surely the numbers are stored in the gadget's memory (like on a USB stick) and are not reliant on the battery being there or not?

they are nearly all on now apart from few mobiles which I'll get eventually - I did have some handwritten. No didn't want to rely on my PC as it is not on all the time and if I need a number right away I go to this little organiser.
