micro sd card adaptor.

Hi, I am just about to get my 1st smartphone and it comes with "micro sd card + adaptor", why adaptor, what does this allow me to do,sorry if it looks a silly question but I cant see why I need this.

it converts the microSD card upto a normal SD card size so you can use it in card readers.
