SKY remote control

My SKY remote seems to have stopped working. When I press any button, the little red LED doesn't light up like it should, and the SKY box doesn't respond. I have tried 3 sets of batteries but it doesn't make any difference. I have noticed this a couple of times in the last few months but it has cleared itself by giving the remote a little bang on the arm of the chair ! The batteries seem to be seated OK in the remote.

So, what to do ? I can change the channels on the SKY PLUS box, so I guess the fault can't lie there.

1 ..........SKY remotes are dead cheap on Ebay, so should I just purchase a new one ?

2......Will they work on my SKY box...ie, is my existing remote "paired" in any way with my existing SKY Plus box ?

buy a new one. You can get them from Morrisons,
Tesco, Asda or sainsburys.
Make sure you get the proper one for your
Sky setup. i.e. Sky or Sky + or Sky +HD.
There will be instructions in the box to show
you how to imput the code necessary
to align your new remote with the make of
TV that you have.

Thanks Roger..I am waiting for Tesco to open ! I had to watch Marvelous Mo on my PC last night. Not such a good picture but what a run !

...or you can join your local Freecycle group (Google it) and see if you can get one for free. Might not be much help as I imagine you'll want to use your remote today but at least on Freecycle you might be able to get a spare :)
