Ps2 games don't work on most ps3 consoles, only on special edition types that do and in my experience are very rare and hard to find
|

When the PS3 first came out they had one model, with the 60Gb drive I think it was, that DID play PS2 games. I bought my son one.
Other PS3 models did not play PS2 games. I guess they want to encourage people to go out and buy the latest games. You may be able to buy one of the olders models second hand, but it will be quit a few years old now. |

I was right.
If you look here at the Wikipedia entry for PS3 you see under model comparison that the 60Gb PAL model was the only one to be able to play PS2 games. This came out in 2007. The 80Gb one listed was for USA only. http:// |

No they won't but your PS1 games will! Just keep your PS2 and get a 3 as well.

I'm still looking for a PS1 so I can play Crash Bandicoot again!! Lol!

Played all the Crash B's repeatedly erin, have never quite mastered the 'fast' rounds (motorbikes, jet skis, the galloping horse thing on the Chinese wall etc etc) - major swearing material
