PC Speakers for TV

Would it be possible to connect a small set of computer speakers to a Technika 22" tv to improve the sound. I;ve seen some speakers where you connect a lead to the usb & 3.5mm headphone jack, there advertised for laptops mainly. The tv as both of these sockets, but i'm unshore if they will be any good for what i need them for.

It won't work with the USB... will work fine with the headphone socket though.
The speakers that have the USB and the 3.5mm headphones will work. The speakers get there power from the USB port and the sound from the headphone socket. I have some HP speakers plugged in this way and it works really well.
Speakers that take power from the USB socket are gonna be limited to around 2.5 watts, and so probably no better than the built in speakers.
Hi Rojash. I don't think you know how bad Technika TV Speakers are.
Can you not connect the TV sound up to your stereo? Mine works just fine that way.

I have these and the sound is simply superb! Plug your MP3 in too!
Problem is though that the sound will be far superir to your picture! ;)

Some interesting answers, the tv is in the kitchen so only wanted a set of small speakers. A stereo would be to big & bulky. Will buy some usb speakers on the advice i've been given & hope for the best. Thank you all very much for taking the time to help me with my little problem
