Retro Bush radio.

Hi, I have one of these radios,but when I turn it off it makes a very weak humming/background noise when it is still plugged in so I have to unplug it at the back every time.
Can anyone tell me what it is and could I stop the noise (without unplugging it all the time).

My is the same, it is so feint (sp) that I can only just hear it if I am very quiet.

Just the mains transformer laminations humming at 50 htz... no danger...perhaps learn it to sing.....:-))
