I have a Hoover HNC5174W Fridge Freezer Frost Free and wondered if there

is something wrong with it, never having one before. The fridge on the top shelf has a great lot of ice forming. it is above the shelf and below it. Only on the left hand side. I have turned the temp. control down to 1 and half. The book that came with it said the ideal temp was on 3. Is there something wrong with it or do they do this.? Many thanks Brenda x

have you left the door open? If this happens the freezer goes into overdrive and you can get a lot of ice forming. You say it is a fridge freezer and then mention the top shelf. If it is the top shelf of the fridge there should defo not be any ice. You don't say how long you have had it. It may be worth contacting the supplier to find out. Annoying, I am sure. Hope it works out well for you.
surely if it's freezing too much, you need to turn the temperature up?
The control goes down in value, thus the temperature goes up :-)

Aye, to get ice forming there has to be air with moisture to deposit, which implies the ambient air is getting replaced often, such as occurs when the door isn't shut properly. You may wish to check you are not almost closing it.

Hi all many thanks for your replies. Sorry meant to say it is thje fridge that is freezing up. Only had it for about a month now. And no door is left open. As I said I have turned it down but never having one like this before I am not really sure what number it should be on. The book says 3. Brenda x
