'Loose' headphones

I bought a pair of headphones but after a few months of use, the wire part just before the gold pin (the part that you plug in) is a bit loose. It means that when I'm listening to something, the sound jumps from one ear to the other to both. If you've experienced this yourself, you can easily imagine that it gets pretty annoying after a while.
Is there a cheap or easy way to fix this myself or through someone else? I used to think a bit of sellotape would work but I'm not so sure now.

''but after a few months of use''

They're still under warranty then... return them for a refund/replacement?
If they are under warranty you have nothing to lose by seeking a replacement. It might depend on how much you paid for them.
