'Voice Actions' for Ipod Touch

Hey all,

I'm having a problem with the software 'Voice Actions' for Ipod Touch (3rd Generation). For some reason I can't get it to do anything, besides make a noise and tell me to tap the screen...

Is it something really simple and stupid?

I may be wrong, but I'm not sure the 3rd Generation has a built in microphone...
