DTS surround sound problem

Hi i cant seem to get my bluray to output newer DTS mixed titles in 5.1 and was wondering if i need a new surround system and if so how much they start at.I have a samsung 7 series 46 inch tv with a sony bluray player and my current surround sound is a videologik digitheatre

stick with dolby 5.1 you wont notice any difference if you go for dts with a basic system like yours
5.1 or DTS are often output through 'specific' sockets.
Check that.
DTS will beat 5.1 hands down for audio .. I have made a few DTS CD discs.
However, it is not much better that 5.1 for Home Cinema use.
The VideoLogic DigiTheatre supports normal DTS, but not the newer high definition DTS-HD Master audio which is what I would imagine your Blu-ray player is outputting.

If the speakers have normal wire on the ends you may be able to use them with something like the Onkyo TX-SR308 amplifier which supports high definition audio.
