Epson SZ400Compatible

When compatible cartridges are used in this printer (3 in1). It states "These are not Epson cartridges" Is it possible to make the printer accept 'non-compatible' as there does not seem to be the usual 'do you wish to use these non-compatible cartridges' I personally think the problem is the cartridges have been incorrectly chipped by maker , or they are the wrong ones for this printer. Anyone any answers or ideas, please ?
