no sound

hello just reinstalled windows no sound i have a sound card, is there a site which i can get the driver from. THANK YOU.
P.S. I also have onboard sound but that dosent work either but i dont want that , wil i have to disable the onboard even though it doesnt work Thanks again

You need to know what sort of sound card it is and then go to the manufacturers website to download the drivers.

it is probably possible to disable the on board sound card in the bios, but if you simply don't install the drivers for that it will make little difference if you don't. it will just mean you have a couple of unknown devices shown in your device manager

chuck's right - it might just be because you haven't disabled the onboard.

if you didn't have the drivers - did you have any of the others?

you need a visit to the mobo site as well and get the drivers for that - and for your graphics as well

this will give you some clues if you need
