MS Windows Vista

A couple of days ago took delivery of a new Dell Inspiron 530, with Vista installed. (loads of memory)

Adobe Photoshop Elements 6.0 and BT Yahoo! were the only software that had compatability issues

Talked to BT Yahoo!, but seems I knew more that the girl who was on the helpdesk. After 30 minutes I began to get a bit heated and eventually they agreed to send me their latest installation DVD.

Impossible to contact anyone at Adobe, so sent them an e-mail asking the question............"Is there a problem." Just downloaded the PSE 6.0 last month, using old PC with Windows XP.

Anyone got any ideas or suggestions?

I'm considering a human sacrifice

Thanks for any response

Both Adobe Photoshop Elements 6 and Adobe Photoshop Elements 7 are compatible with Windows Vista. You can upgrade from 6 to 7 for £64 if you want.

Do you have Vista Service Pack 1? If not, install it. That may solve any problems.

As for BT Yahoo Broadband, that depends on which modem or router you have. The modem or router is a separate device between your computer and the phone socket, which, if it came from BT, probably has a name like BT Voyager, Speedtouch, BT Home Hub, or BT 1xxx. BT yahoo broadband has extensive information on their website. Have a look for your router or modem on this page and it will tell you what to do:
http://bt.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/bt.cfg/php/endu ser/cci/bt_adp.php?p_faqid=9695&p_sid=GT_vy6fj &p_lva=&cat_lvl1=346&cat_lvl2=401&cat_lvl3=402 &cat_lvl4=1179&p_cv=4.1179&p_cats=346%2C401%2C 402%2C1179

You only need a new BT Yahoo Broadband CD if you are going to connect your modem/router via USB and you don't have Internet access on another computer to download the driver.

Thanks Koster

BT CD is due today or tomorrow, which hopefully, will solve the BT Yahoo! issue

As for PSE 6.0, after a lot of to'ing and fro'ing, seems that when installed, '''' somehow '''' one of the image resolution defaults 'installed incorrectly.' In the end, I just uninstalled and reinstalled ............... never could get the helpdesk instructions to work....

You probably know the story, "Fix this, that's now wrong, fix that, something else is in error, etc., etc., etc."

Used PSE 6.0, last night..............without errors or missing bits.

I'm very grateful for your sterling advice
