How Can I Make A Zipped Folder without using winzip?

I recently got some software that i want my friend to use as well because its a music thing but i want to make a zipped folder without winzip. does anyone know how to do this? because my friend doesent have winzip.

you need some sort of zipping software.
I think winzip is inbuilt into XP.
winRAR is a good and popular piece of software that will unzip many different types of compressed folders

cant your friend just dl winzip ? its a small,free download.Im still using the trial version i donwloaded about a year ago.

It doesn't matter how the zip is created, by Windows or winzip or otherwise.

What's important is that your friend can open it. Windows can open zip files, so as long as its a zip file you'll be fine.

thanks, i did send someone a zip file once, and they said it looked like a folder with a zip on it, but hes got XP so it would work i think.
