Google Chrome has been playing up for a while now (keeps crashing when I open it after laptop has booted up) so I'm going to delete it, then re-install it and see if that helps.
Anyway, I want to ensure that I don't lose my favourites list.
What will I have to do to ensure that I keep all my favourite websites, or will the favourite folder be automatically saved??
I'm on Win 10.
TIA :)

Go to settings (3 dots on the right of tool bar), bookmarks and then bookmark manager, then in the right hand pane there should be a drop down with 'organise' selected, hit the drop down arrow and one of the options should be 'export to html file', select that and choose where to save the file and what to call it and when you have re-installed Chrome go the same route...

//// when you have re-installed Chrome go the same route to import from the saved file. ////

After asking this question, I managed to find the same answer you've just posted.
My worry was that if I uninstalled Chrome, would it delete the HTML file - a bit daft I know, but obviously it won't .... hopefully :)
Anyway, best answer for you for replying .... thanks :)
Try installing the latest version as follows.

Open Chrome.
Select the three dots in the top right
Select Help from the menu
Then select About Google Chrome
It will automatically update Chrome to the latest level
Shut down Chrome and reopen it to pick up the new version.

Then see if it works ok.

Cheers Guilbert513 - I assumed that Chrome just updated itself, but mine wasn't up to date, so I've just updated it.
Anyway, I'll see if it's made any difference when I switch my laptop on in the morning :)
I'm on Chrome and it did 11 'important' updates this morning.
You can set Chrome to do updates automatically, but I tick the option 'ask me before installation'.

...... and I've looked several times and can't find out where this option is ....
