I’m looking how to delete the following from a WORD doc. I’ve looked in Word Options but can’t spot it.
I input a line of spaces, ----, which when the end of the line is reached, converts itself into a solid line which can’t be deleted. Hovering the cursor over the line produces a symbol which vertically looks like
A downward arrow
an equals sign
An upwards arrow.
It refuses to be dragged.

That symbol comes up when you join 2 pages together without a space. You should be able to double click on the funny symbol and it will split into two.

Although you see it as a line,Word actually thinks that it's created a border. So you need to remove that border:

Quote:
"To remove the line, place the cursor in the paragraph just above where the line was added. Make sure the “Home” tab is active. If not, click the “Home” tab on the ribbon.

In the “Paragraph” section of the “Home” tab, click the down arrow on the right side of the “Borders” button and select “No Border” from the drop-down menu. This removes the line from below the paragraph in which you placed the cursor."

Sounds like its an autocorrect feature

Hopefully you'll find the entry from the link above.

I don't use Word (and the rest of Office) unless I REALLY have to!
