When the UK switches between Greenwich Meant Time (GMT) and British Summer Time (BST), can I stop historic emails from automatically changing dates?

dates and times in emails are actually stored and transmitted as UTC (Coordinated Universal Time). When you view such a date-time, a program does its best to translate that into your local time. The dates in your emails are not actually changing, they are just being displayed differently. If you are interested, there is a video explaining the problem from a programmer's perspective.
