It's malware.

Download, install and run the free version of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware:
https://www.malwarebytes.org/antimalware/
(NB: When installing, make sure that you de-select the pre-ticked option to take a free trial of the Premium version. Don't be surprised if a scan takes ages - that's normal. When malware is found, use the 'quarantine' option).

Thank you both for your prompt replies. I already have malwarebytes installed but it has not done the trick this time. I also have AVG but this has not worked either. Another ad is annoying me now called Buzzwok and I can't remove this either. I would appreciate any suggestions you may have.. I have windows 8.1. Thanks.
Try all of this:

In case Methyl has any other suggestions, also please tell us which web browser you're using (e.g. Internet Explorer 11 or Firefox 33.2
I could assist if you provide the information requested by methyl.

If you do follow the instructions in malwaretips.com I would suggest that you avoid using AdwCleaner or Hitman Pro which could upset your Operating Systems Registry. Also Re-setting your Browser should be avoided for the moment because you will loose some items which will have to be re-established.

Sorry, I have Firefox browser, I don't know the number.
>>>I don't know the number

If it's the latest version it should be 33.1.1

Go to Help>About Firefox to check.
. . . also go to Tools > Add-ons > Extensions to check that there are no recent unauthorised extensions shown there.
Hi mangar... What is the latest which you can report.?

Hans.

I couldn't get rid of the virus so I reset the computer back to factory settings and it is now working properly. I am now getting the desktop back to normal, and hope that is the last of the virus. Thanks for all your interest.
