Warning On Laptop

this morning, I have had 1 message warning me that Windows Registry needs repair or my computer might not function properly.

this message came as I was looking at an anagram solving program

should I take it seriously or is it one of those - irritating - scams ?

clear history, cookies and run malwarebites free version....empty trash/recycle bin..
