I have been able to enlarge the letters B N E on the computer ie they appear to fil a A4 sheet but on printing them the only come out about 1/2 inch tall. My wife wants them big to act as a template to cut these leters out of some material. Any ideas how I can get those 3 letters fill a A4 sheet.

Did you look at the print view before you printed them?
are you working on Word or something? That should have a type size option.
Assuming that you're using Word, type the letters at any size. Then highlight them by dragging your mouse over them. Next go to Format > Font. The list of available options for font sizes appears to only go up to 72 points but you can get round that by simply typing a larger font size (e.g. 400) into the size box. Experiment until you get the desired size and your document should then print out correctly.
Also do check the print settings. Make sure no scaling occurs.
Unsure how you were trying it previously. Plain text or picture ?

Thank you all for your help. The advice from Buenchico was of particular help (from whom I have had lots of help in previous posts-a bit of a clever clogs me thinks). It was the bit about setting your own font level that did it. The Missus is making something for a friend's new born baby, so once again THANKS to you all . This site can be of so much help to a dead brain wrinklie like myself.
