My mouse has stopped working on my old laptop. I have replaced a new battery and the USB is in the right hole.

It must be something to do with the laptop as the mouse from my new laptop dosent work with it either.
The cursor works from the finger pad, but not the mouse.

Any ideas folks?

My wireless trackball has buttons on both trackball and receiver one can press to try to establish connection. Do yours have anything similar ?
It's worth plugging the receiver into a different USB socket, if yoiu have one. It should then re-install the drivers and you might be lucky.
I dislike wireless mice. It's my opinion that a cheap cabled mouse is far better than an expensive wireless one.

Do as bhg has suggested and then reboot your laptop. Switch off and leave for 10 minutes before switching back on.

Hans.
