I have an HP Deskjet 1050 printer that will 'print scan copy'. What I cannot find is how to get it to scan to the computer, without printing, so that I can save and use it subsequently. Advice appreciated.

Is there a menu button? Or a scan button?
Can you go via Control Panel (on the computer) to "scanners" and issue instructions there, rather than doing it on the scanner itself?

Thank you all for your replies. I eventually succeeded by starting with the Control Panel. There have been many references to this on the internet. It's not much of a recommendation for Deskjet 1050 that so many people need to look for answers a similar question.
