Changing Date Format

can anyone tell me if its possible to change the date format in "pictures" as i'm finding it hard to find things the american way, eg todays date is showing 2014/06/14. any advice would be wellcome. I would love it to read 14/06/2014

The date setting within folders (such as 'Pictures') is determined by the settings that apply to Windows as a whole. It appears that Windows wasn't installed with the UK settings on your computer.

You've not told us which version of Windows you're using but these instructions (for Windows 7) will apply fairly generally:

thanks for your help Buenchio i've followed the link but nothing seems to have changed, i'm using windows 7 by the way. all the dates in documents section are allways in the British format.as you can tell i'm not at all computer savvy
