Outlook express doesn't have it's own spell checker, it uses the spell checker from Microsoft office and the UK dictionary from office 2007 and office 2010 isn't compatible with outlook express.

It's suggested that you install and use windows live mail, which is the replacement for outlook express. OE is very old now.

You will need to download spell checker tool for Outlook Express to change directory from French to English.
