Capacity of external HD

Hi
I have a Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex ext HD, 500 Gb. However, when transferring some music tonight, I clicked on properties for the HD and it shows only 14 Gb free space, yet I have only (as far as I am concerned !) loaded it with approx 30 Gb of data. (Music, pics, docs etc.) Can anybody throw any light on this for me please ? Many thanks.

Did you format the whole drive as a single partition ?

Try opening up 'Disk Management' and seeing what your drive looks like.

Problem sorted - formatted again and recopied everything over and now have capacity that I thought I should have !! Thanks again.
