Music too fast

Have tried altering speed on Windows media player. Still does not work.

music on my lap topvb- wordXP

On Spotify and other programmes, the music is far too fast. Can anyone help please. I have tried unticking the "hardware acceleration" box on Preferences. This doesn't help. Thanks....
