Sounds odd - is the machine overheating?
click the start button and choose appearance and themes..click change the computers theme...click screen saver...under the screen saver window it says..wait...choose the desired amount of time you want your computer to shut down and either tick the box as to whether you want to enter your password or lave it unchecked if you dont...well thats how it works on mine..
