iMAC iTunes

i have recently purchased an iMAC after having used a Windows XP PC.

I have opened iTunes on the new MAC and signed in, but I don't see any of my music. I have connected my iPOD but it says this is already synched to another PC. I thought I would simply see my music in iTunes, any help what to do or what I am doing wrong?
