Powerpoint attachment

Several times I've received an email from a friend with an picture attachment. When I try to open these, I'm asked to Save them, which I do. They then appear in my Documents. On trying to open them again, I still get the 'Save' request; whether or not I overwrite them I'm still unable to Open. What should I be doing, please?

I think that hwta you are saying is that if you go back to the e-mail and try to open the picture, you are once again asked if you want to save it. But if it's already in "My Documents", you can open it from there - you don't need to open it from within the e-mail.
Presumably your e-mail client is configure to prevent you from opening an attachment directly. As you haven't told us what client you are using, it's difficult to advise on that.
Another possible reason for being unable to open an attachment directly is if the Temp directory is full. You can fix that by running Disk Cleanup.

you also don't get the open option direct from an email if you've not got the relevant software to open the attachment installed, so, Do you actually have powerpoint installed?

My apologies Rojash and Chuck. I did reply to your comments very quickly, but the answer hasn't appeared so I guess the connection was interrupted yet again (BT - Big Trouble).

I was certainly trying to open from Documents, Rojash, so it wasn't that. However.... egg on my face again. When I followed Chuck's suggestion and checked All Programs, I discovered that Powerpoint wasn't there. It used to be, but I must have deleted it for some reason.

Anyway, I installed the Powerpoint reader - or thought I had - but it hasn't appeared yet in the list so I may try again.

Sorry to have wasted your time yet again on a problem for which I should have been able to work out the solution myself.
