Laptop to TV

Hi Guys, While travelling I use the 10.5" Asus laptop and I would like to connect it to my 32" Samsung HDTV when back home in order to work from my armchair using the large screen facility. As I am not sure what connection lead would suit I decided to request your advice before purchasing. Your advice will be much appreciated. Thanks. Tel.

Mine connects using an HDMI lead, although I know not all laptops have them

Am I correct in thinking I need to press Fn + F8 or F11 after connecting cable or is it not necessary if using HDMI connection? Thanks again

Mine is Fn and F4, but I know other work on F8, just to switch between PC and TV. i also get a pop up window prompting me oince it's connected.

What's the model number of the laptop and the TV?

The chances are you'll need a VGA lead and a suitable lead to carry the audio too.

(and as long as the TV is connected when you seitch the laptop on it will autodetect another diplay)
