CPU Usage.

hi all.really hope someone can help me..i,m trying to reload my data base onto my pc karaoke player.i,ve done this numerous times,but suddenly it's not happening.in task manager,it says not responding and cpu usage is at 98% to 99%.any ideas as to what could be causing this..desperate..many thanx in advance.

Open up a task list and see what is taking all the CPU time. You may have something in the background using all the resource that you can stop. In fact the old turn it off and turn it on again may help.

tried the turn off,turn on,been doing it for 2 days now.just looked in task list,and only thing that seems to be taking cpu time is "system idle process" running at 98%.then fluctuates between 70% and 98%.means nothing to me at all.

Sytem Idle 98% is a good thing, for obvious reasons. Usage is really only 2%.


It could be corruption. If in the application it would be fixable by reinstalling it. If in your database then you'd need the back-up.

But first why not scan for viruses and malware and see if anything crops up ?
