I'm trying to copy a document from Ancestry.co.uk but it's gone in the printers queue. My printer is set as default but it' says it's offline so I right clicked to set it on line but a notice came up stating 'The argument (?) is invalid'. Can somebody enlighten me please. (I need this document!)

If your PC doesn't recognise your printer, simply switching everything off and then back on again usually resolves the problem.

Otherwise you need to reinstall the printer driver (from the disk which came with the printer, or by downloading from the manufacturer's website) or you could try running System Restore (from Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools) to take your computer's registry back to a date before the problem arose.

Thx for the advice Buenchico. I've switched everything off and then back on to no avail. I can print ordinarily but can't seem to get the printer on line. Keeps saying 'The argument is invalid'.?
Try System Restore, as above.

HI Buenchico, Wheres accessories? I've clicked on start, then 'all programmes' comes up but can't see accessories anywhere.
That's weird, but you've not said which version of Windows you're running (so System Restore might be hidden away somewhere else in your version). Try going to Start > Help & Support, and typing 'System Restore' into the search box. Then click on 'Run the System Restore Wizard'.

Goodafternoon Buenchico! I've tried turning PC off then printer & vice versa. No Luck. Anyway - my PC is Windows Vista. I went to Search & typed in 'System Restore' but couldn't find 'Run The system Restore Wizard' in the list anywhere. Any other helpful suggestions before I do the dinner please?!
