Opinion on my PC please.

A friend built a PC for me some while ago and generally I am quite pleased with it.

The system is : AMD Athlon II x2 250 processor.

3.01 GHz, 1.75 GB of RAM

252 GB Hard drive capacity.

Do you think this is a reasonable set-up ?

I use the PC mainly for word processing, surfing the net, playing music etc. not for gaming.

Cheers.

How much did you pay for it?
It should be capable of doing what you say OK BTW.

About £250 four years ago. It has a dvd drive, 3 USB ports etc.

Thanks, Chuck.

Seems over priced...

I was expecting to see a figure of around £100 max for that... I've given away systems with better specs than that to friends.

Thanks, Chuck, you've made my day !

The figures for the Hard drive and RAM are a bit puzzling but yes, more than adequate for your needs.
I am basing my opinion on you not getting a monitor with it BTW.
It was four years ago though. There is also the case, motherboard etc. Often made up from scratch computers end up costing more than custom units.
I agree with CF re price. I recondition and resell PCs fairly regularly, and this is typical for a four or five year old machine:

Processor: Intel Pentium dual core E2180 2.0GHz
RAM: 4GB DDR2 (all slots are full)
Graphics: nVidia GeForce 7100
NIC: nVidia nForce
Sound: On-board high definition
Hard disk: 500GB SATA (room for four more SATA drives and 2 IDE drives)
Optical disk: ASUS DVD-RW
Floppy disk: 3.5” 1.44MB
Front panel: 2 x USB 2, Audio (mic & speakers, perfect for headset)
Back panel: PS/2 keyboard, PS/2 mouse, 4 x USB 2, Ethernet port, Audio

£100 + VAT, £20 UK delivery

Thanks, all.

I don't know the full spec but it was built from new, without monitor, keyboard etc.

Cheers.
