...and how it cheered me up.
I started the other day just so not wanting to be at work. The build-up to Christmas means lots of donations...food,gifts,clothing. More so this year as those in charge have been going to every form of social media with our 'wish list'
All the food needs sorting by me- maybe with a bit of help..Sometimes I need to dispose of bad food to make room for good. It's tiring and physical...as I shove my head in the nearest freezer...
I'm at the point where I've been pretty damn tired and suffering with constant fatigue, joint aches...and eating way too much sweets. Cause it's there. I basically feel like *** a good deal of the time, and my mood is crap. I've been waking from dreams about things I need to do...like next week's volunteers lunch...for 40+ so far. I want Christmas to be done and over.
I felt like everything caved in on me when I arrived at work ...and had a cry. Scared my ex supervisor...as she'd never seen me break. Had a good chat with my team leader, and felt a boost from getting it all out.
All morning...more food arriving. Way,way too many mince pies, and sweets.
Then...just before lunch, 2 ladies arrived. They "had a bit of money left over, and wanted to get us what we needed".
...a trolley full of meat. Real...fresh...meat. Beef, pork, and lamb joints. Really useful stuff...stuff to make healthy meals with. I was crying again...this time overwhelmed with how generous people can be.
This is why I still love my work. And this should be what this season is about.

I'm always amazed at peoples generosity.
Brilliant, hope you can settle and try and enjoy your Xmas.
The work you do is so important and you're bound to get tired despite the rewards but how lovely that people can boost you like that.

Well done to you and all your colleagues and thank you for the wonderful work you do.

Enjoy your time off however short and love to Lil pasta too.x
Yes, the true meaning of Christmas 'a time for giving'. Our supermarket handed a list of goods needed for the food bank and as the shop was very busy the trolley was full very quickly and several more trolleys were being used. Very generous of people at this time of year.
Pasta.....that's so lovely.......I'm glad you shared it.....but take care of yourself too now!

Another little tale.....

The houses at the bottom of our hill woke up to no water the other week. No warning so no time to stock up.
Then.....every house in the street got a knock on the door.....a young lad had woken early.....discovered the problem and had driven through the countryside to Kettering Asda and stocked up on bottled water.
He dished it out to the whole street and wouldn't take a penny....

Kindness is so lovely......x

And again, Pasta.....what you do is so good......but be kind to Pasta!!! Gx
No shame in a bit of a weep when things get 'just too much', pasta - everyone gets to that point sometimes (at least everyone with a heart does).

Lovely ending to the your story too - many people are very kind, both in time and money and it's good to see.

people are kind when it comes to the crunch in my experience. When FIL passed away I went to library searching for a particular piece of prose for his service, just could not find it and got a bit teary, the librarian came along to ask what was wrong and I told her, she then found it for me and would not take payment for the printing. May not seem much, but to me at that time it seemed as if an angel had appeared at a time when I was very emotional and stressed
How generous of them. You do a very worthwhile job, well done.
