Now that is a shock. Though not nearly as shocking the Mickey Rooney has died again)

RIP Jonah Lomu

RIP Jonah.
Legend! I saw him a few times during the RWC at Twickenham, and he seemed fine. He was polite as ever to us stewards, and youd never know he was ill.

Hopefully Twickenham crowd will pay their respects this Saturday (BaaBaas v Argentina)

RIP
Shocking news indeed.

RIP Jonah.
RIP Jonah. A legend of the game.
I 'm not a rugby fan but I knew who this man was. He seems to have been VERY well liked, respected and much amired. Very sad at any age ,but at 40... very very sad. May he rest in peace.
very very sad..mountain of a man that shook up the world of rugby..will be greatly missed RIP
We watched him play at Kingsholm, he came down the wing like a train, Vera was hoping he would land in her lap! Yes, he did score the try!

A great player and a wonderful man.

RIP Jonah.
40 is way too young for ordinary folk, let alone for those you would expect to be extra-healthy, like sports professionals.

RIP Jona.

Kidney trouble.
transplant which failed some years later and back on dialysis
Throughout his battle with his medical condition his wish was to continue being a father to his two young boys. He lost his own father at a young age.

Best wishes to his family.

I well remember the occasion, during the 1995 World Cup, when Lomu brushed Mike Catt aside as if he wasn't even there and scored a try. Someone commented that Lomu flattened a cat and never reported it. (Yes, I know you don't have to report a flattened cat, but the concept was wonderful!)
RIP Jonah, sad that QM has to use this to have a dig at England. Wonder were QM comes from....hang on!
He hasn't had a dig at England TTT, lighten up.
Oh! So saddening, such a shock. May he indeed rest in peace and my thoughts are with his family.
R.I.P Jonah Lomu. such a shame. a great sportsman.
40 is a bit young

others have said failed renal transplant - wh cd certainly kill you
Tora if that isn't a pot calling a kettle black then I dint know what is
My greatest memory of Jonah is him ripping England -- and Ireland -- to shreds in S Africa in 1995
My younger son (33 today) worshipped him. When Tom discovered his hero ate Taro for strength did we have fun making different recipes with it almost 3 times a week.
A Fine Gentleman. Thank you Jonah. R.I.P Missed by your family and All.
