The Daily Telegraph is reporting that Mo Farah has missed two doping tests. This has come out after his coach was implicated in a drugs accusation. I saw Mo win one of his golds inLondon, and would be very disappointed if it turned out he's a cheat.
I'm surprised about his excuse for missing the tests. He said he can't hear the doorbell from his bedroom and so missed the tester turning up at his house. He should make damn sure he could hear it. He knows how important it is to be there when they turn up. Anyone agree?

An athlete was interviewed about doping tests on R4 this morning. He said you have to give the testers a time slot of an hour that you will be at a place, for example home, and that's it. The testers could then come to your house at that time slot at any point during the next 6 months. There's no way you can guarantee to always be at home - especially as an international...

He said he was there but didn't hear the door bell.
Why didn't they pursue him at the time - instead of smearing him three years later ?

The whole conspiracy stinks.
I think this one will run and run.
The tests are random, surely?
So "making damn sure you are there when they turn up" is therefore not really feasible I'd have thought
I was in the house yesterday and missed the gas meter reader, he left a card saying he would return today.
That makes me guilty of fiddling the meter?

He says they don't test them enough - if they tested more often there would be a higher likelihood you would be at home.

Mo Farah's excuse is rubbish though. They will have rung his doorbell every 15 mins until that time slot is up.
Farah's excuse stinks to high heaven.
if somebody call at my door for a drug sample id think they were taking the p?@@
You would have thought, if he didn't answer the door, they'd have called him on his mobile or landline ...

But - this was not a news story four years ago. It's only a news story now because of the story on Salazar. And the Salazar story did not involve Farah. So this is mainly a bit of s***stirring by the Daily Mail (in which it first appeared). The DM probably views Farah as an illegal immigrant so, as it's the DM, I'm backing Farah until proven otherwise ...
