I have been running for a number of years, completed 5 half marathons and lots of 10km. Since running I have sometimes been sporadic with running lots some weeks and other times only once or twice a week.

Recently I have been running four times a weeks ranging from 3 miles to 6 miles each run. My body is willing but my breathing is erratic and I cannot seem to calm it down like previously. I have tried breathing in through the mouth out of the nose, the other way around, calming and slowing it down but it does not seem to help. any suggestions because I am extremely frustrated as I am hoping to do another half marathon in October but this is looking very unlikely if I can't get it sorted. :0(

One way is to drink plenty of water in your daily routine but not before running, this will help you. Secondly try to breath in from nose and breath out from mouth while running.
