hi peeps, a thought just popped into my head, if 2 people are playing pool and player 1 takes a shot and does not pot his object ball but leaves it hanging right on the edge of the pocket then leaves the table, player 2 then starts to walk towards the table to look at what shot to take and while doing so player one's object ball drops into the pocket, is that classed as a foul on player 2 part or does player 2 sit back down and player one carries on ????

He sits down and player 1 continues. He has to physically touch the table to be in control of it.
Talbot is correct; player 2 has to address (touch) the table before he is deemed to be 'in play'.

thankyou for your quick replies I can sleep 2nite for knowing that :)
It'll all depend on your interpretation of "addressing the table"
We had this happen in my local a while ago and I argued that if you touch the table, then you're deemed to have addressed it.
I was out-voted, as the majority decided that you need to bridge your hand on the table,in order to have been deemed to have addressed the table.
