Our houses in the close have drives sloping quite steeply towards the houses....

My neighbours either side work so I take the bins back in on collection day.

I usually do one at a time but today I discovered that if I place the bins just right where the footpath and drives meet...then run along and tap them....five bins today....they head off down the drives on their own!

Next door's blue bin won today......so....

a) Would it help if I oil the wheels on my bin?
b) Have I too much time on my hands?
c) Am I far too easily amused for a woman of my age?

Question Author
Good!...☺
Lol gness! They do go faster if you place a child in them. But remember their safety helmet or it's "irresponsible". Apparently. Xx
Question Author
So....now I need a lot of pensioners to place bets.....and five or six children to put in bins.....no problem....☺
And if you damage the wheels, the council will offer to sell you a new set at a price (elf and safety, can't have the rubbish collectors pulling bins with faulty wheels even if the distance they pull them is less than a metre). We oiled them instead after the threatening notice!
