Well it seems that simply by posting a news report on the accidental death of Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall's brother it has opened a whole can of worms full of hatred against this Camilla.

So I think the best questions to ask now is why is she so hated by some, was it because Charles happened to fall in love with a married women, (nothing new there it happens not only to the aristocracy, but even to mere mortals)?

Or was it because the late Princess Diana, reached idol status among the minds of some?

And finally why in the minds of some is Charles not fit to become King, or Camilla his Queen?

I'll be honest (if tactless), i was never a fan of Diana, but like Camilla even less. The only thing i know about her is that she's proven herself immoral and untrustworthy. Same with Charles.

Because he was sleeping with Camilla before his marriage to Diana, during his marriage to Diana and after his break-up with Diana. He was also shagging an army officer's wife, Camilla's husband Andrew. So much for decency, respect and common decency.

I wasn't a great Diana fan, but I'm not a fan of homewreckers either. Charles was the worse offender, though.

Charles did not fall in love with amarried woman. Their affair began before either of them were married and yet they both went on to marry other people. The affair was on going the whole time.

can't say i cared for his treatment of his young wife Diana, long before the PR machine got into overdrive, it still seems rather callous, hankering after your mistress when you are just engaged, then married, and never actually letting go, why didn't he just marry her, she could have got divorced, then waited a suitable period, he married her anyway

If it wasn't for those two, Diana would still be alive today, not trying to find happiness with Dodi Al Fayed ! She really, really loved Charles and he betrayed her in the worse possible way.

I'm not sure about the whole time, Tilly, I think he did politely desist for the first few years of his marriage. Still not proper behaviour, though, and no reason for me to like either of them.

I like Charles and Camilla and think that we don't know what pressures are put on the heir to throne to marry a woman he doesn't love.

I don't think he did fall in love with a married women - I think he fell in love with Camilla when they were both still single, but unfortunately she wasn't considered a suitable match. Since then the criteria seems to have changed - and that's no bad thing. Had he married her in the first place, the course of history may have been very different.

I feel that Camilla does a good job of being consort to Charles BUT why is it that Charles can become king after marrying a divorced woman whilst his uncle had to abdicate and was sent into exile?

he married her anyway, just that he had to do it much later in life. All the shades of hypocrisy in-between, made Diana miserable, then she behaves badly, then promptly gets killed, its like some bad soap opera.

Diana behaved badly?? You mean she tried to forge a new life for herself in the face of such betrayal ?

I think Charles is a weak man who despite his forthcoming role as Defender of the Faith clearly didn't think much of breaking his wedding vows with the wife of a fellow officer. He is also profligate, self-obsessed, and lacks confidence (he hated Diana being more popular than himself) which apparently only Camilla can help him with.
Having met him I must say he can be utterly charming.............

Old rules still applied then though Emmie - which is why Edward had to abdicate. A succession of royal divorces and Diana's death was a real wake up call to the establishment.
