I expect that you have all been getting anxious. The SuperLeague season is under way, and I haven't yet posted a thread.

Well, you can relax now, because here it is.

Actually today, for me, is the "real" start of the SuperLeague season, because it's Surrey Storm's first game, against Manchester Thunder. I still can't get used to calling them that.

So, okay, results so far. A good start for defending champions Bath. Not so good for last year's finalists, Dragons. And the whippets are off to a flyer. I was trying to think of some sort of dog racing expression, out of the traps, or something, but gave up.

On Thursday ...

Herts Mavericks 49-45 Celtic Dragons

On Friday ...

Bath 59-45 Northumbria

On Saturday ...

Yorkshire Jets 53-34 Loughborough

are there teams called Rutland Rain and Wiltshire Wind? Those would be more appropriate to what actually happens in winter.

I'm trying to think of a humorous reply, but I can't come up with anything.

Zilch.

Nada.

not easy to be humorous about the British winter. Derbyshire Drab v Gloucester Grey, who's follow them?
Question Author
They sound like breeds of horses.
Gloucester Grey seems to be a brick, as in "Angela, you're a brick".

A drab is a prostitute; a teamful of them might be quite a drawcard, even when playing against bricks
